DUMB WORD OF THE DAY

Christians often pitch the idea of “being a lamb of God” as something really special. In all fairness, being a follower of God, a sheep in his fold, is an incredibly safe and wonderful thing. Who better to protect you, feed you, and shear you? However, what many don’t remember is that sheep are dumb – really dumb. They would just as soon walk off a cliff and eat grass in a meadow. People often forget that the sheep need a shepherd. They give their lives to Christ and then head off with their own plans – back out in the meadow alone to get eaten. It is true, we are sheep in his fold. It’s true that we have given our lives to him and need him to lead us. It is true that we aren’t very good at finding our way much less seeing the wolves.

We should remember that we are sheep.
