Young men dream of shaving. Older men dream of not shaving. Some men shave more than women. Young women shave with diligence. Older women take the winter off. Some women don’t shave at all.

Shaving had significance in the Bible. Not shaving had a different significance. Shaving your head and sometimes more was a sign of setting yourself aside to God or concluding a big time of commitment to prayer, worship or devotion. Not shaving also indicated different forms of worship, mourning and commitment. There were even laws regulating shaving.
