YOKED WORD OF THE DAY
Old farmers understand the phrase “equally yoked” because they remember plowing with oxen or mules side by side. If one mule was stronger or bigger, it was more difficult to make a straight line in the field. In Biblical teaching, either the weak believer will be drug away from his faith by the strong unbeliever or the strong believer will constantly have to carry the weak unbeliever. Either way, unequally yoked is not the way to go.
What does this have to do with today’s word? Outlandish is the word used to describe the foreign (and, clearly stronger) women with different morals that drew the wisest of all kings away from God.
