AGITATING WORD OF THE DAY

The newer versions of the Bible are stirring up some trouble with the King James Bible by using stirring instead of strove. But even the newer versions strive against each other, never once stirring the same way. None of the five uses of stirring in the New American Standard occur in the same verses as the New Century Version.

However, all uses of stirring and strove describe literal or figurative agitation. Our favorite is the one that seems very relevant to daily life: Proverbs 30:33.
