COMBO WORD OF THE DAY
Today’s word makes its appearance four times in the King James and once in the New American Standard Bible. In the King James it is twice the English translation of a Hebrew word and twice the translation of a Greek word. The NASB only translates the Hebrew.
So why is it the combo word of the day? From the Greek, apt is always the translation of didaktikos and finds itself accompanied by “to teach”. It simply takes three English words to get across the meaning of didaktikos. You can look up 1 Timothy 3:2 or 2 Timothy 2:24 to see how WordBloom displays this combo word. Click the grey node attached to able, apt and teach to check out didaktikos.
Today’s word is a perfect example of the richness of the ancient languages of Hebrew and Greek.
