WAVE DASHING WORD THURSDAY

A member of the WordBloom Bible Study Team was being tempted to break the Tenth Commandment when he typed in today’s word of the day.  He was dreaming of a wave of warmth, the sound of waves, and the sun when we caught him saying, “I want to become a Snowbird and spend the winters on a beach in South Florida, Mexico or a warm island. I can’t take it any more.”

We expected beach, if it was in the Bible, to be in a contemporary version, but found it in the New American Standard as well. Our favorite verse so far is John 21:4 where the Bible records one of the many occasions when Jesus was seen after he rose from the dead.  Picture this, you are in a boat with the disciples, fishing, not knowing what to do since Jesus has been crucified, the sun is coming up and suddenly you see a man on the beach. “When the day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.”  Check out the rest of the story here.
