Messiah

SURPRISE WORD OF THE DAY

One would think that there would be endless occurrences of the word messiah in the Bible – especially, in the New Testament.  Surprisingly, the NASB version wins with eight uses of the word.  Messiah is only used 2 times in other versions.  Messiah means an anointed or consecrated person but when used as a proper name, Messiah, it directly refers to Jesus the anointed king of everything who was set aside to save the world.
