As you study remember two things:
- Everything in the Interaction Area of the Adviser automatically updates to focus on whatever is in the middle of the bloom.
- Almost everything in the Interaction Area is clickable and will show you something new about the Bible.
The Bloom
The bloom is the center, or focus, of everything WordBloom . The bloom allows you to see and visualize the Bible as it works the way that your mind thinks.
Each bloom has three main parts:
- Center (1) – this is the verse, word, related item, etc. that is the current focus. Everything builds around the center.
- Nodes (2) – are color coded circles representing something about the Center. If the Center is a word, the first ring of nodes could represent definitions or thoughts. If the Center is a verse the nodes will be words, dictionary, thoughts, or related items.
- Next Level (3) – From Center to Code to Next Level. The next level is the next thing related to the node. In the same way a node is related to the center, the next level is related to the node.
For example, (1) if you had a word in the center, say “dog”, then the nodes (2) would be dictionary definitions for “dog” and the next level would be synonyms (3) (other words used elsewhere in the Bible for the same definition).
Bibles
To the left of the bloom are the Bible versions (4 above). You have access to any of the Bibles available but WordBloom will open the first time with three standard versions selected:
- King James Version – one of the most trusted, conservative and accurate translations available dating back to 1611 and revised for language since that time.
- New American Standard Version – this word for word translation is second in use only to the King James but has more contemporary language. It is the standard for current scholars.
- New Century Version – used by Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, this version is a solid contemporary thought for thought version. It is easy to read and understand.
The Bibles are presented in two simple ways based on the focus of the study (the center).
- As a list of Scriptures in which the center Word, Dictionary Entry, Thought or Related Item occurs.
- As a section of Scripture (10 versus before and after) when a Verse is in the center.
Related Items
WordBloom automatically presents items related to your study focus and updates those items with every click and change of focus. Related items are initially presented in short form and can be clicked for more detail or to move them to the focus (center) of the bloom.
Related items are presented in three categories (see diagram above):
- Cross References (1) (References for short) – Other verses or topics that related directly and indirectly to the focus of your study.
- Dictionary Entries (2) – These related items originate from dictionary definitions or definitions that are indirectly related to the focus of your study. When a dictionary entry is in the center, the full definition will be displayed.
- Thoughts (3) – Thought items represent commentaries, notes and other thoughts by seasoned authors that relate to the focus of your study.
The Reader Section
Thought items often have more text that other Related Items (Dictionary entries and Cross References). WordBloom incorporates a reading section that can be hidden or expanded to make Thoughts easier to read.
When you click on a Thought (1), the text will automatically be displayed (3) in the Reader Section. Simply drag the Reader Section bar (2) until the window is your desired size.
