Let the Bible Interpret the Bible

As we are on our journey adjusting to God, we are often tempted to try to adjust God to our understanding instead.  Many have fallen into the trap of reading what they want to read into the text of the Bible.

It has long been said, “Anyone can prove anything using the words of the Bible.”  However, if we keep the Bible in context and stay objective, we can avoid all these dangers.

Note that while Jesus sometimes spoke in parables, when examined closely, the meaning is not hard to discern. However, it does take study. The Bible was not simply meant to be an owner’s manual to the human soul. It was meant to assist you in developing your spiritual knowledge and your relationship with our creator.

Our greatest scholars – those who persevere, those who live the truths they discover – know that the best way to study the Bible is to read the truths that are in the Bible (rather than make the common error of reading truths into the Bible).  There is a simple method to achieve a great study.

The story of God is consistent and holds itself accountable.
